What I’ve Done

I was so amazed when I heard this, even more so when I saw the video.
It’s practically a new Linkin Park. I loved how Linkin Park was, the screaming mixed with the rapping… I loved most of their songs.
This new song… it’s a little less screaming from Chester and a little less rap from Mike, but it still sounds great. I thought they had great shots in the video, especially those that shows them against the “sunlight”.
I’m already excited to hear the rest of the album.
But I don’t think a lot of people share the sentiment… Not everyone is adaptable to change.

I know it’s a little late to be posting about this, but I had better say something about it because not doing so makes me look like I’m actually enjoying this.
As most of you know, the June 2006 Nursing Licensure Examination passers have been obliged to retake Tests III and V of the Nursing Licensure Examination. It’s just my real unfortunate stroke of pure bad luck that I had to be one of them.
At first, I ranted, raged on, blamed people and denied to myself that I couldn’t possibly retake those tests again. But sadly, the unfortunate truth has crept up on me and I have already filed for the retake this June 11, 2007.
Well, I have reached the final stage of grief. I have actually come to accept the fact that I’m reviewing for the same tests that I already passed.
Sounds unfair, doesn’t it?
Imagine my joy when I heard the news last August 2006 that I have actually passed my board exams. All the studying and hard work has paid off only for it to be snatched away from you with the news of having to retake those tests again. It’s like getting an extremely painful, undeserved slap on your face while you were enjoying the euphoric state that seems to have consumed you when you read your name on the newspaper telling everyone else that you’re a professional already.
Anyways, I have come to terms with it and next week, I’ll be starting up my review again. I’m trying to be as positive as I can be, viewing this review and exam as another opportunity to learn more things and remember those tidbits of information that seems to have occupied the dark and dusty recesses of my mind. I had to apply for a forced leave from work (which I’m starting to enjoy, by the way) and spend three days and two nights in Iloilo City to file for the retake.
Now I’m back home, trying to get everything together and prepare myself for that same review, keeping in mind that overcoming a challenge always leaves you feeling better about yourself.
If you’re clueless about what I was talking about, you might want to check out http://pinoybsn.blogspot.com/ since this blog seems to have compiled all kinds of news, letters and rants regarding Nursing here in the Philippines.

Coming To Bookstores Too Soon…

Oh. My. Gosh…
I’ll only get to freak out like this one more time. The final installment.
I’m hitting this ambivalent mode right now. I mean, part of me wants this book to come out, but the other part doesn’t – mainly because this is the last book. And then, the series would really be over.
Sigh.
I’m guessing that this is one of the Horcruxes?

Music and Lyrics Movie Review
Starring: Hugh Grant & Drew Barrymore
Directed by: Marc Lawrence
When I first saw the poster for this movie, I thought that it couldn’t be possible that both Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore sang in this movie. Just goes to show how wrong I was.
If I were to give a rating for this movie, I’d give it 3 and a half stars out of five. It wasn’t exactly spectacular although I did have countless fits of giggles mainly due to Hugh Grant’s “booty shakes”. The plot of the story is simple and engaging – mainly about a struggling ex-teen sensation star who gets help from a traumatized former literary student with his lucky break in the music business – but it’s the music of this movie that gets me. I just love the sound of someone playing the piano. And the song that Grant and Barrymore’s characters composed, “Way Back Into Love” was just perfect. It has a catchy, mellow tune and sticks in your head that when the movie is over, you’ll be muttering to yourself, “Gosh, I loved that song they wrote…” I was even surprised that both Grant and Barrymore sang in this movie. They weren’t jaw-droppingly good, but nice enough to listen to.
The costumes in this movie were great, and the script was excellent. They have to be since Drew Barrymore’s character was a struggling writer hoping to be rid of her ‘literary ghost’. And Hugh Grant has this uncanny ability to hit comedic sarcasm in it’s mark that leaves you laughing not because of the visual comedy but the humor of the dialogue.
Overall, it’s a good movie to watch if you’re looking for those ‘feel-good’ entertainments. If you want intense drama, angst, visual comedy or breath-taking cinematography, then I suggest you go to another theater.
But seriously, it’s funny watching Hugh Grant doing an 80’s music video for their supposed music video entitled, “Pop! Goes My Heart”.

His Real Life
For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin – real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.

Denny Hearts Izzie…

These two are officially my favorite TV couple.
This scene is absolutely stuck in my head. Kudos to Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Katherine Heigl for their superb acting.
I cried out buckets when Denny died and when Izzie listened to what Denny said to his parents after Izzie accepted his proposal..

My Life On Haitus…
My life went on haitus since Friday last week…
I had a feeling then that something was definitely up and I could tell that it was my temperature. I actually asked my mother about it, since she’s a nurse and I am, too, and she told me that it might just be so since it’s been hot for a couple of days. But things started to get curious when I noticed odd blisters on my face and body. It was about then that I realized I might have Chicken Pox.
Why did I never get this when I was younger?
I’m actually quite tired of hanging around the house since I can’t go anywhere due to the fact that I’m infectious.
This hasn’t been the best week lately. And I’m not really sure if I could get right back next week.
I’m already bored, I already finished six seasons of ‘Scrubs’ and now I’m catching up on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ just so I could entertain myself.
Can’t wait for the scars of my illness to leave me…
I’m praying hard that they’ll come off…
